General home cooking, not advice

Recipes for general home cooking. Not medical or nutritional advice. Nutrition figures are estimates. Bloomplate recipes, including everything in the book, the add-ons, the dashboard, Bloom Kitchen AI and Bloom Daily Pick, are general home cooking. They are not medical, nutritional or dietary advice, and they do not replace advice from your doctor, an allergist or a registered dietitian.

What we do not claim

Bloomplate does not claim that any recipe or ingredient treats, prevents or cures any condition, causes weight loss, burns fat, speeds up your metabolism, detoxes or cleanses the body, reduces inflammation or strengthens your immune system. "Mostly healthy" in our books means fruit-forward, whole-food cooking, and our desserts are lighter home desserts, not diet food.

Nutrition figures are estimates

Where a recipe shows calories, protein, carbohydrate, fat or fiber, those figures are estimates, calculated from typical ingredient values. Your ingredients, brands and portions will differ. Do not rely on them for a medical diet.

Allergies are your call

Every recipe lists its main allergens (dairy, egg, gluten, peanut, tree nut, coconut, soy, sesame, fish and shellfish). We flag them as carefully as we can, but products and brands change their ingredients, and factories share equipment. Always read the labels of what you buy, especially for a severe allergy, and check for cross-contact. If you are unsure whether a food is safe for you, ask your doctor or allergist before you eat it.

Bee pollen and edible flowers appear in some recipes as optional finishes. Do not use bee pollen if you have a pollen or bee-product allergy, and do not give it to young children. Use only flowers sold as edible.

Cooking for children

Food safety

Wash fruit and vegetables, keep raw fish, meat and eggs apart from ready-to-eat food, cook them through, and keep cold food cold. Follow general food safety guidance on how long food can sit out, especially on boards and brunch tables. If something looks, smells or tastes off, throw it out.

Kitchen equipment

Follow your blender's, food processor's and appliance's own instructions. Never put a hand or utensil into a running blender, and use a tamper only where your blender is designed for one.
