Bloom Daily Pick: Automated Tasks usage policy

What Bloom Daily Pick does, what counts as a billable task, what it costs, and the weekly cap that cannot be exceeded.

Last updated 2026-09-25

The short version

$1.65 per completed task. Never more than $25 in one week. A normal week is 10 tasks, which is $16.50. You can pause or switch it off at any time from your dashboard.

What Bloom Daily Pick is

Bloom Daily Pick is an Automated Task: a scheduled service that decides what to make today, from the Bloomplate recipes on your account, based on what is in your kitchen and what is about to go ripe.

It is not a reminder, not a newsletter and not a motivational message. Each run reads your settings and your kitchen list, removes every recipe you cannot or should not make, scores what is left by what needs using up, and picks the recipes for you. That is work, done for you, and it is the reason it is billed per completed task rather than bundled into a flat fee.

It is not one of the Bloom Weekly gifts, and it is not Bloom Kitchen AI. It is its own service, with its own price and its own cap.

The schedule

A normal active week is 10 scheduled tasks.

Runs are scheduled on our servers and do not depend on whether you are signed in, which browser you use, or whether your phone is on. Closing the tab changes nothing.

What counts as a billable task

A task is billable when it completes and produces a real result.

These are never billed:

The price, and the cap

$1.65 per completed task.

A week ofTasksCharge
Morning picks only (evening prep off)7$11.55
Morning picks and evening prep plans (the normal week)10$16.50
Everything, including the Saturday brunch plan11$18.15

Weeks with an evening that had nothing to prep cost less than the table shows, because that evening is not billed.

The hard cap: $25 a week

Bloom Daily Pick cannot bill you more than $25 in any weekly billing period, whatever happens. Once that is reached, no further billable tasks run until the next period begins. There is no override, no exception and no setting that raises it.

Before a run does any work, it reserves its price against that week's allowance on our servers, in a single step that cannot be interrupted. If the reservation would take the week past $25, it is refused. If the run then produces nothing billable, the reservation is released. That ordering is what makes the cap reliable, even when runs, retries and delays happen at the same moment.

Billing weeks run Monday to Sunday, UTC. Bloom Weekly and Bloom Kitchen AI charges do not count toward this $25, and this cap does not limit them. They are separate lines with separate rules. Bloom Weekly also happens to be $25 a week, but that is a membership price, not part of this cap.

What you set up, and what happens to it

Setup is short on purpose. These are the settings a pick cannot be made without:

These are optional, and an empty one is never treated as a signal:

You can also update your kitchen list by sending a fridge photo to Bloom Kitchen AI and confirming what it saw.

Allergens, diet, tools and dislikes are applied as filters in code, before anything is picked. They are not a suggestion that a model is asked to respect. They remove recipes from the list entirely.

Your settings are stored against your account and can be changed at any time from your dashboard. They are never sent to any advertising platform. See our privacy notice for the full list of what is and is not shared.

What one run actually does

In order, every time:

  1. Checks the slot is still open. If this scheduled moment has already run, the second attempt stops here and nothing is billed.
  2. Checks you are still eligible to be billed at all. If not, it stops, and nothing is billed.
  3. Reserves the price against this week's allowance, before any work is done. If that would pass the cap, the run is refused.
  4. Filters in code. Only recipes you own. Nothing with your allergens, nothing outside your diet, nothing your tools cannot make, nothing you dislike, and nothing picked or cooked in the last 10 days.
  5. Scores what is left, in code: what in your kitchen is about to go ripe, how much of each recipe you already have, and the time of day.
  6. Picks. An AI model chooses from the top-scored recipes and writes one friendly opening line. It never invents a recipe, and it never decides the price, your eligibility or the cap. If it names anything that was not on the list, or fails, the top-scored recipe is used.
  7. Releases the reservation if the result is not billable, such as an evening with nothing to prep.
  8. Records the run and sends the email, when there is something to send.

Timing

Runs follow your local time, using the time zone recorded when you switched Bloom Daily Pick on. Morning picks arrive at the time you chose. Evening prep plans arrive in your evening.

If our systems are briefly unavailable, a missed run is picked up on the next sweep where it still makes sense to send it. A morning pick that would arrive the next afternoon is dropped rather than sent, because a pick for a breakfast that already happened is not useful, and a run that does not happen is not billed.

How usage is measured and settled

Every run is recorded with its scheduled time, its actual start and finish, its status, its type (morning, evening or brunch), whether it produced a billable result, the price applied, its billing state, any retries, and whether the email was sent. That record is what your dashboard shows and what any billing question is answered from.

Completed tasks add up through the week and are settled once, at the start of the following week, as a single charge described as "Bloom Daily Pick, week of date", with the number of tasks included. Settlement cannot charge the same week twice.

Your dashboard shows, at all times: the current status, your settings, the next scheduled run, how many tasks have completed this week, what they have cost, and how much of the $25 remains. Recent activity reads plainly, for example: "7:00 AM. Picked Mango Sunrise Bowl. Used your ripe bananas."

Result emails

Each billable task sends one short email: the pick, the time it takes, what you have and what you need, the BLOOM move of the day, and a button that opens the recipe in your dashboard. Evening emails carry the prep checklist and the missing items. Shop links are never put in these emails.

We do not send an email when you switch Bloom Daily Pick on, pause it, switch it off or change your settings. We do not send announcements, tips or offers through it. If an email arrives from Bloom Daily Pick, it has a pick or a plan in it.

Unsubscribing from our emails also pauses Bloom Daily Pick, because the email is the product. You can switch it back on from your dashboard.

Eligibility

Bloom Daily Pick needs a payment method that can be charged again: a card, or a PayPal account authorised for future payments.

If you paid with Apple Pay or Google Pay only, Bloom Daily Pick is not available. Both wallets provide a single-use device number, so there is nothing on file that can be charged again. On those accounts it is not offered, not shown, not scheduled, and refused by our server. Nothing you bought is affected, and you can add a card deliberately from Billing at any time.

Pause, switch off, and failed payments

Pause stops runs immediately and keeps your settings. Switch off stops runs entirely. Nothing switches it back on automatically.

If a weekly settlement fails, the outstanding amount is shown in your dashboard and further billable tasks are held until it clears. Everything you have bought stays available regardless.

Food safety and allergies

Bloom Daily Pick picks recipes for general home cooking. It is not medical or nutritional advice. It relies on the allergens and diet you entered, so please keep them accurate, and always check ingredient labels yourself, especially for a severe allergy. Ripeness is judged from a general table and the dates you gave, so use your own eyes and nose: if something looks or smells off, throw it out.

Accuracy and availability

Picks are made automatically from your settings. A kitchen list that is out of date produces a pick that is out of date; keeping it current is the one thing the service needs from you. Bloom Daily Pick can be wrong. It is a helper, not an authority, and the recipe card is the reference whenever the two differ.

The service depends on our infrastructure and on a third-party AI provider, and can be delayed or briefly unavailable. A run that does not happen is not billed.
